Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor

Removing

• Engine cold.

- Quickly open the coolant reservoir cap - arrow - and release any remaining pressure in the cooling system and then close it again.






- Remove the front engine cover - 1 - upward.






- Disconnect the electrical connector - 1 - on the engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor (G62).






• Lay a cloth below to catch escaping coolant.

- Remove retaining clip - 2 - and engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor.

• Ignore - arrow -.

Installing

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

• Replace O-ring.

• To prevent coolant loss, immediately insert new engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor in support.

- Check the coolant level => [ Check the coolant level. ] Service and Repair.
