Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 01 number 13-84 dated April 3, 2013 for reasons listed below.

Vehicle Information

Condition

^ MIL on.

^ DTC P0456 (very small EVAP leak) stored in engine control module (ECM), J623 (01).

^ No leaks found in the EVAP system.

Technical Background

Software update needed.

Production Solution

New software in the ECM addressed the condition.

Service

Note:

Reference the Software Version Management (SVM) table below to determine the appropriate SVM update code. If the existing software is already at the new version levels shown, and the natural vacuum leak diagnostic (NVLD) control module (A61A7: J909, A8: G400) has been replaced with the latest part number, contact Audi Technical Assistance (TAC) for further instruction.

^ Follow all instructions in the attached TSB, 2011732 00 Software Version Management (SVM), operating instructions.

^ Update the ECM using the SVM action code as listed in the table below if necessary.

For A6 and A7:

1. If the software level is at 0004 or lower, perform ECM SVM update and replace crankcase pressure regulating valve with part number 06E103547H (only if SVM code 01A092 was used; the SVM code brings ECM to software level 0007, which needs the 'H' suffix breather valve).

2. If P045600 is stored with software level 0005 (or higher), only replace NVLD control module, J909.

For A8:

1. If software is already to the latest level, replace G400. The SVM code 02A031 will update both the ECM and the TCM.
