Multicontour Seat Compressor Bonded Rubber Bushing

Removing

• Follow all safety precautions when working on pyrotechnic components. Refer to => [ Pyrotechnic, Electrical and Mechanical Restraint System Components, Safety Precautions and Testing Procedures ] Testing and Inspection.

• Before handling pyrotechnical components (for example, disconnecting the connector), the person handling them must "discharge static electricity". For example, by briefly touching the door striker pin.

- Remove front trim bracket, compressor and multi-contour seat control module. Refer to => [ Front Trim Bracket, Compressor and Multicontour Seat Control Module ] Front Trim Bracket, Compressor and Multicontour Seat Control Module.

- Remove compressor. Refer to => [ Multi-Contour Seat Compressors V439/V440 ] Multi-Contour Seat Compressors V439/V440.






Eye injury risk.

• Wear protective eyewear!

- Drill out the rivets - arrows - and remove the multicontour seat compressor bonded rubber bushing.

Installation

• Follow all safety precautions when working on pyrotechnic components. Refer to => [ Pyrotechnic, Electrical and Mechanical Restraint System Components, Safety Precautions and Testing Procedures ] Testing and Inspection.

• Before handling pyrotechnical components (for example, connecting electrical connector), the person handling them must "discharge static electricity". For example, by briefly touching the door striker pin.

• Observe all measures when installing the front seat. Refer to => [ Power Standard Seat/Sport Seat/Super Sport Seat ] Power Standard Seat/Sport Seat/Super Sport Seat.

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

• The rubber-metal compress mount must not be installed under tension or twisted.

• Therefore, first bolt all rubber-metal mounts to the compressor. Refer to => [ Multi-Contour Seat Compressor Assembly Overview ] Multi-Contour Seat Compressor Assembly Overview and then rivet them.
