Condition
The customer may report hearing creaking or rattling noises from the door trim. The noise may come from any of the four doors.
Technical Background
Due to dimensional tolerances, the gap between door trim and door sheet metal is sometimes too small. As a result, there may be contact between the door trim panel and sheet metal during relative movement that can lead to noises.
Production Solution
Felt tape has been applied to the contact areas on the door trim panel.
Service
1. Remove the front door trim panels according to the repair manual.
2. Apply felt tape to the back side of the front door trim panels in the area shown with the yellow line (Figure 1).
Apply the felt tape to the back side of the trim panels, as shown by the black arrows (Figure 2).
3. Remove the rear door trim panels according to the repair manual.

4. Apply felt tape to the back side of the rear door trim panels according to step 2.
Tip: Ensure the felt tape does not protrude past the door trim panel, and that it is not visible from the outside. This may lead to customer complaints.
