CD Changer: Service and Repair






CD Changer (R41)

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Radio Removal Tool (T10057)

Fiber Optic Pliers Repair Set (VAS 6223)

Protective Cap For Cable Connector (VAS 6223/9)

The CD changer is inside the glove compartment.

- If control module is replaced, select "Replacement" function for appropriate control module in "Guided Fault-Finding" routine.

Use the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.

- Turn off the ignition and all electrical consumers and remove the ignition key.

Removal

- Open glove compartment.

- If there is still a CD in the CD changer, take it out.

- Insert the two clips on the (T10057) in the release slits on the CD changer - 1 - until they engage. Points on the grip eyelets of tool face outward.






- Remove CD Changer from mounting frame.

- Disconnect all connectors from the CD Changer.

- Attach the (VAS 6223/9) - 1 - onto the MOST bus connectors - 2 -.






- Remove (T10057) , push locking tabs on CD Changer to do so.

Installation

- Connect all harness connectors.

- Slide CD Changer into mounting frame until it engages.
