Steering Angle Sensor

The steering angle sensor G85 is installed between the steering wheel and steering column switch.

Removing

- Set the wheels to the straight ahead position.

Coil connector with slip ring - 1 -.






- Remove the airbag unit and steering wheel => 48.

- clipped onto the switch for turn signals, high/low beam headlamps and headlamp flasher.

- clipped to the coil ring with slip ring.

The coil ring with slip ring must not be turned when they has been removed.

- Remove the steering column switch module => 94.

Installing

Install in reverse order of removal.

- Install the airbag unit and steering wheel => 48.

- Calibrate the steering angle sensor -G85-.

Use the vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system (VAS 5051B) or (VAS 5052) for this.

- Select the desired function on the display.

- Then perform the ESP driving and system test.
