Oxygen Sensor after Three Way Catalytic Converter (G130) and Heater for Oxygen Sensor 1 after Catalytic Converter (Z29)
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
• Ring Spanner 7-Piece Set (3337)
Removing
- Disconnect the connector - 2 - from the Oxygen Sensor (O2S) after Three Way Catalytic Converter (TWC) (G130) and heater for Oxygen Sensor (O2S) 1 after catalytic converter (Z29).
• - 3 - is not on vehicles with engine code CPMA.
- Remove the O2S after TWC - 1 - using a tool from the (3337).
Installing
Note the following when installing:
• New oxygen sensors are coated with assembly paste; the paste must not get into the slots of the oxygen sensor body.
• For a used oxygen sensor, only coat threads with hot bolt paste. This paste must not come into contact with the oxygen sensor slots. Hot bolt paste, refer to the Parts Catalog
• Wiring connection of the oxygen sensor must always be secured in the same position when installing so that the contact with the exhaust pipe is avoided.
