Heated Oxygen Sensor (G39) and Oxygen Sensor Heater (Z19)

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Ring Spanner 7-Piece Set (3337)

Removing

- Disconnect the connector - 3 - from the Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) (G39) and the Oxygen Sensor (O2S) heater (Z19).






• HO2S connector component location - 6 - on vehicles with engine code CPMA.






- Remove the HO2S - 2 - using (3337).






Installing

Note the following when installing:

• New oxygen sensors are coated with assembly paste; the paste must not get into slots of oxygen sensor body.

• For a used oxygen sensor, only coat threads with hot bolt paste. This paste must not come into contact with oxygen sensor slots. Hot bolt paste, refer to the Parts Catalog

• Wiring connection of the oxygen sensor must always be secured in the same position when installing so that the contact with the exhaust pipe is avoided.
