Fuel Injection and Ignition






Heated Oxygen Sensor (G39) and Oxygen Sensor Heater (Z19)

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Ring Spanner 7-Piece Set (3337)

Removing

- Disconnect the connector - 3 - from the Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) (G39) and the Oxygen Sensor (O2S) heater (Z19).






HO2S connector component location - 6 - on vehicles with engine code CPMA.






- Remove the HO2S - 2 - using (3337).






Installing

Note the following when installing:

New oxygen sensors are coated with assembly paste; the paste must not get into slots of oxygen sensor body.

For a used oxygen sensor, only coat threads with hot bolt paste. This paste must not come into contact with oxygen sensor slots. Hot bolt paste, refer to the Parts Catalog

Wiring connection of the oxygen sensor must always be secured in the same position when installing so that the contact with the exhaust pipe is avoided.
