Forward/Back Adjustment Motor
• The seat forward/back adjustment motor can only be replaced together with the seat pan lower frame.
Removing
• Follow all safety precautions when working on pyrotechnic components.
• Before handling pyrotechnical components (for example, disconnecting the connector), the person handling them must discharge static electricity. For example, by briefly touching the door striker pin.
- Remove the front seat:
• Standard and sport power seat, comfort seat and super sport seat. Refer to => [ Power Standard Front Seat ] Power Standard Front Seat.
- Attach the front seat to the (VAS 6136). Refer to => [ Front Seats, Installing on the ] Front Seats, Installing on the Fixture For Seat Repair (VAS 6136).
• The upper and lower seat pan frames can only be separated and connected when the upholstery is removed.
• The seat position sensor must be installed in the new seat pan lower frame.
- Remove the seat position sensor:
• => [ Seat Position Sensor, with Seat Occupied Sensor for Belt Fastening Detection ] Seat Position Sensor, With Seat Occupied Sensor For Belt Fastening Detection.
• => [ Seat Position Sensor, with Seat Occupied Sensor for Passenger Airbag Deactivation ] Seat Position Sensor, With Seat Occupied Sensor For Passenger Airbag Deactivation.
- Separate the seat pan upper frame from the lower frame => [ Upper and Lower Frames, Separating ] Seat Pan, Disassembling and Assembling.
Installing
• Follow all safety precautions when working on pyrotechnic components.
• Before handling pyrotechnical components (for example, connecting electrical connector), the person handling them must discharge static electricity. For example, by briefly touching the door striker pin.
Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:
• Make sure the connectors are installed all the way in and are secure.
Connect the battery with the ignition switched on. Pyrotechnic components could deploy after connecting the battery if they were not repaired correctly. Individuals must not be inside the vehicle when connecting the battery.
- Connect the battery ground cable with the ignition turned on.
• If the airbag indicator lamp (K75) indicates a fault after installation, the DTC memory must be checked, deleted and checked again using the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.
