Right Front Seat Ventilation Control Module (Seat Heater Integrated) (J799)/(J800)
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
• Trim Removal Wedge (3409)
Removing
• Follow all safety precautions when working on pyrotechnic components.
• Before handling pyrotechnical components (for example, disconnecting the connector), the person handling them must discharge static electricity. For example, by briefly touching the door striker pin.
- Turn on the ignition.
- Disconnect the battery ground cable from the battery with the ignition on.
- Remove the front seat:
• Standard seat and Sport seat (manual). Refer to => [ Manual Standard Front Seat ] Manual Standard Front Seat.
- Attach the front seat to the (VAS 6136) => [ Front Seats, Installing on the ] Front Seats, Installing on the Fixture For Seat Repair (VAS 6136).
- Disconnect the connector - 2 - right front seat ventilation control module (J799) / (J800) - 1 - by pressing the release - arrow -.
- Release the retaining strap - arrow 1 - using the (3409).
- Pivot the control module downward - arrow 2 -.
- Release the tab on the control module - arrow 3 - on the mount.
- Remove the control module.
Installing
• Follow all safety precautions when working on pyrotechnic components.
• Before handling pyrotechnical components (for example, connecting electrical connector), the person handling them must discharge static electricity. For example, by briefly touching the door striker pin.
Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:
• Make sure the memory seat adjustment control module engages audibly in the retainer.
• Make sure the connectors are installed all the way in and are secure.
Connect the battery with the ignition switched on. Pyrotechnic components could deploy after connecting the battery if they were not repaired correctly. Individuals must not be inside the vehicle when connecting the battery.
- Connect the battery ground cable with the ignition turned on.
• If the airbag indicator lamp (K75) indicates a fault after installation, the DTC memory must be checked, deleted and checked again using the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.
