D-Pillar Trim

• Removing and installing is identical for the left and right sides.

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Removing






Follow all safety precautions when working on pyrotechnic components.

- Fold the backrest forward.

- Versions with fixed rear seat backrest: remove the head restraints. Refer to => [ Headrest ] Headrest.

- Vehicles equipped with sun shade: unclip sun shade guide trim - 1 - using a screwdriver and remove it.

- Unclip the D-pillar trim - 2 - using the (3409) - arrow A -.

- Pull the D-pillar trim from the rear shelf - B arrows - and remove.

Installing

• Follow all safety precautions when working on pyrotechnic components.

• Do not pinch the head curtain airbag when installing the D-pillar trim.

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

• If the trim clamps remain in the body mounting points, remove them and insert them in the trim.

• Check clamps for damage or deformation, replace if necessary.

- First install the D-pillar trim to the rear shelf.

- Press the D-pillar trim on until it engages audibly.
