C-Pillar Trim

Removing and installing is identical for the left and right sides.

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Pry Lever (80 - 200)

Removing

Follow all safety precautions when working on pyrotechnic components.

- Remove the luggage compartment side trim. Refer to => [ Luggage Compartment Side Trim ] Luggage Compartment Side Trim.

- Remove the rear outer belt guide. Refer to => [ Rear Outer Belt Guide, Avant ] Rear Outer Belt Guide, Avant.

- Remove the expanding clip - 1 -.






- Unclip the C-pillar trim - 2 - using the (80 - 200) - arrow A -.

- Pull the C-pillar trim downward - arrow B - and remove.

Installing

Follow all safety precautions when working on pyrotechnic components.

Do not pinch the head curtain airbag when installing the C-pillar trim.

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:






If the trim clamps remain in the body mounting points, remove them and insert them in the trim.

Check the clamps for damage or deformation and replace them if necessary.

- When installing the C-pillar trim - 3 -, make sure the retaining strip - 2 - fits into the cut-out in the body - arrow - and in the headliner - 1 -.

- First mount the C-pillar trim on the centering pins and then press until it engages audibly.

- Pull the rubber lip on the door seal over the edge of the trim panel.
