Seal between Bevel Box and Transmission

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Pulling Hook (T20143)

• Oil Collecting and Extracting Device (V.A.G 1782)

• Thrust Piece (T10243)

• Grease, refer to the Parts Catalog

Procedure

- Remove the bevel box. Refer to => [ Bevel Box ] Service and Repair.

- Place the (V.A.G 1782) under the transmission.

- Remove the sealing ring using the pulling hook (T20143/1) or pulling hook (T20143/2).

- Lightly oil outer circumference of new shaft seal.

- Fill the space between the sealing and dust lip - arrow - half way with sealing grease; sealing grease, refer to the Parts Catalog.






- Install the shaft seal using the (T10243).






- Install the bevel box. Refer to => [ Bevel Box ] Service and Repair.

- Refer to => [ Transmission Fluid, Checking and Filling ] Transmission Fluid, Checking and Filling.
