Transmission Fluid Cooler






Transmission Fluid Cooler

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Hose Clamps Up to 25 mm Dia. (3094)

Engine Bung Set (VAS 6122)

Removing

- Turn off the ignition.

Vehicles with a 2.0L TFSI engine:

- Disconnect the connector - 1 - on the mass airflow (MAF) sensor (G70).





- Unclip the air intake connection - front arrows -.

- Remove the engine cover - rear arrows -.

Vehicles with a TDI CR Engine:

- Remove the engine cover - arrows -.





- Remove the air filter housing.

All Vehicles:


Risk of destroying electronic components when disconnecting the battery.

Observe measures for disconnecting battery.

- Remove battery.

- Remove the bolts - arrows - and the battery carrier.





- Mark coolant hoses to transmission fluid cooler to prevent mix-ups when installing.





- Clamp the transmission fluid cooler coolant hoses using (3094) and remove them from then transmission oil cooler.

- Seal any open lines and connections with a clean plug from the (VAS 6122).

- Remove the bolts - A -.





- Remove the transmission fluid cooler - B - together with both O-rings - C - from the transmission.

- Seal any open lines and connections with a clean plug from the (VAS 6122).


Coolant must not drip into transmission!

Installation

Install in reverse order, paying attention to the following:

The bolts - A - and O-rings - C - must be replaced.

- Install battery carrier and battery.

- Install the air filter housing.

- Check status of coolant.
