Removing

- Secure the locking button in its pulled-out position with a cable tie - arrow -, as illustrated.

- Fold the selector lever boot - B - upward and over the selector lever handle - C -.

- Open the clamp - A - and remove both the selector lever handle and the selector lever boot without touching the locking button.

Installation

In order to install the selector lever handle, the locking button must be pulled out all the way and secured either with a cable tie - arrow - or with the assembly tool supplied with a new handle.

If the lock button was not secured, do not pull it out from the handle using mechanical aids. Mount the compressed air gun to the bottom of the handle and then push the locking button out with compressed air.

- Install the selector lever handle all the way onto the selector lever - make sure the locking button faces the driver.

When doing this, handle must engage into ring groove of the selector lever.

- Remove cable tie or assembly aid, thereby the lock button mechanism engages in the vertical groove of the selector lever. If necessary, press the lock button into the selector lever handle.

- Clamp the handle - C - to the selector lever, using a new clamp - A -. Use (V.A.G 1275).

- Install the selector lever boot frame - B - in the center console.
