Transmission Speed Sensor: Service and Repair
Transmission Input Speed Sensor (G182) and Clutch Oil Temperature Sensor (G509)
• Transmission input speed sensor and clutch oil temperature sensor are put into one component and can only be replaced together.
Removing
Risk of transmission damage.
• Do not run engine or tow vehicle with oil pan removed or without transmission fluid.

- Remove the ATF pan. Refer to => [ Oil Pan ] Service and Repair.
- Remove direct shift gearbox (DSG) mechatronic (J743). Refer to => [ Direct Shift Gearbox (DSG) Mechatronic (J743) ] Service and Repair.
- Remove bolt - B -.
Risk of damaging electrical wire.
• Do not pull on electrical wire.
- Remove transmission input speed sensor and clutch oil temperature sensor item - A - together with wire - C - from transmission.
Installation
Install in reverse order, paying attention to the following:
• Tightening specifications, refer to => [ Oil Pan, Mechatronic and Transmission Fluid Pump Overview ] Oil Pan, Mechatronic and Transmission Fluid Pump Overview.
- Coat transmission input speed sensor and clutch oil temperature sensor with gear oil.
- Insert transmission input speed sensor and clutch oil temperature sensor in side opening on transmission and tighten => [ / ] Oil Pan, Mechatronic and Transmission Fluid Pump Overview.
- Install DSG mechatronic. Refer to => [ Direct Shift Gearbox (DSG) Mechatronic (J743) ] Service and Repair.
- Install the oil pan. Refer to => [ Oil Pan ] Service and Repair.
- Be sure to follow the procedure for connecting the battery and afterwards.
- Fill transmission oil and check oil level. Refer to => [ Transmission Oil, Draining, Changing and Filling ] Transmission Oil, Draining, Changing and Filling.
- Basic Setting execute, using vehicle tester.
