Starter

Observe notes on contact corrosion. Refer to => [ Contact Corrosion ] Contact Corrosion.

Removing






- With ignition switched off, disconnect battery ground wire. Refer to => [ Battery in Luggage Compartment, Disconnecting and Connecting ] Battery In Luggage Compartment, Disconnecting and Connecting.

- Remove vacuum hose - 2 - at the air filter guide hose.

- Remove the air guide hose - 1 - on the throttle valve control module (J338).

- Disconnect the mass airflow sensor (G70) connector - item 3 -.

- Remove the air filter housing upper section - arrow -.

- Remove the filter.

- Remove the air guide cover - 1 -.






- Unclip the air guide - 2 -.

- Remove the air filter housing lower section - arrows -.






- Remove the air filter housing bracket - arrows -.






- Disconnect electrical connector - 3 -.






• Ignore - item 1 - and - item 5 -.

- Disconnect the electrical wire - 2 - on the starter solenoid switch.

- Remove ground wire - 4 -.

- Remove the lower screw on the starter (accessible from the top) by using a 3/8 inch socket, 16 mm.

- Remove the upper screw on the starter and remove the starter.

Installing

Install in reverse order of removal, noting the following:

- Connect battery. Required actions => Battery In Luggage Compartment, Disconnecting and Connecting.
