Replacement Airbag Wiring Harness, Installing on Backrest
• Follow the safety precautions for pyrotechnic components.
• Before handling pyrotechnical components (for example, disconnecting the connector), the person handling them must "discharge static electricity". For example, by briefly touching the door striker pin.
- Remove backrest cover panel.
- Remove left and right seat side trim.
- Remove backrest. Ensure wiring is not damaged when doing this.
1 Cable Guide
• The wire must be routed on the side opposite the airbag module.
2 Replacement Airbag Wiring Harness
• It must be ensured that the wire cannot be rubbed or pinched when the seat is adjusted.
3 Felt
• Is contained in the repair kit.
• Should prevent damage to the replacement airbag wiring harness.
- Secure cable guide - 1 - with a felt strip on seat frame.
4 Cable Guide Openings
- Secure replacement airbag wiring harness in backrest cable guide openings.
5 Bolt
• For securing replacement airbag wiring harness ground connection - 9 -
• 10 Nm
6 Airbag Module Connector (Series Production Wiring Harness)
- Remove series production wiring harness connector.
- Connect replacement airbag wiring harness connector with airbag module.
7 Ground Connection on Airbag Module (Series Production Wiring Harness)
- Carefully disconnect wire.
8 Airbag Module Connector (Replacement Airbag Wiring Harness)
9 Ground Connection on Airbag Module (Replacement Airbag Wiring Harness)
- Tighten ground wire - 9 - on bolt - 5 - to 10 Nm.
10 Connectors
- Secure connectors to seat frame with cable ties.
• Further installation is performed in the reverse order of removal.
