Replacement Airbag Wiring Harness, Installing on Backrest


Follow the safety precautions for pyrotechnic components.

Before handling pyrotechnical components (for example, disconnecting the connector), the person handling them must "discharge static electricity". For example, by briefly touching the door striker pin.

- Remove backrest cover panel.

- Remove left and right seat side trim.

- Remove backrest. Ensure wiring is not damaged when doing this.






1 Cable Guide

The wire must be routed on the side opposite the airbag module.

2 Replacement Airbag Wiring Harness

It must be ensured that the wire cannot be rubbed or pinched when the seat is adjusted.

3 Felt

Is contained in the repair kit.

Should prevent damage to the replacement airbag wiring harness.

- Secure cable guide - 1 - with a felt strip on seat frame.

4 Cable Guide Openings

- Secure replacement airbag wiring harness in backrest cable guide openings.

5 Bolt

For securing replacement airbag wiring harness ground connection - 9 -

10 Nm

6 Airbag Module Connector (Series Production Wiring Harness)

- Remove series production wiring harness connector.

- Connect replacement airbag wiring harness connector with airbag module.

7 Ground Connection on Airbag Module (Series Production Wiring Harness)

- Carefully disconnect wire.

8 Airbag Module Connector (Replacement Airbag Wiring Harness)

9 Ground Connection on Airbag Module (Replacement Airbag Wiring Harness)

- Tighten ground wire - 9 - on bolt - 5 - to 10 Nm.

10 Connectors

- Secure connectors to seat frame with cable ties.

Further installation is performed in the reverse order of removal.
