Auxiliary Fuel Pump






Auxiliary Fuel Pump


Letting the high pressure pump run dry will destroy it.

If the fuel filter, a fuel line or the auxiliary fuel pump (V393) is being replaced on a Common Rail engine, then it is necessary to bleed the fuel system before starting the engine for the first time.

- Bleed the fuel system.

Removing

Observe safety precautions. Refer to => [ Fuel System ] Fuel System.

Observe rules for cleanliness. Refer to => [ Clean Working Conditions ] Fuel Supply System.

- Press the release buttons and disconnect the fuel return line - 1 - and the fuel supply line - 2 -.






- Disengage the fuel supply hoses - 1, 2 and 3 - from the bracket and then remove the bracket - 4 -.

- Disconnect the connector - 1 -.






- Remove the bolts - 3 and 4 - and then remove the bracket - 2 - and the auxiliary fuel pump.

- Remove the bolt - 1, 2 and 3 - and the bracket - 4 -.






- Remove the connector - 1 - from the bracket and free it up on the wiring bracket - arrow -.






- Remove the auxiliary fuel pump - 6 - and the rubber bushings - 5 and 7 - from the bracket - 3 -.

- Remove the fuel hoses - 2 - and - 4 -.

Installing

Tightening specifications, refer to => [ Auxiliary Fuel Pump Assembly Overview ] Auxiliary Fuel Pump Assembly Overview.

Installation is in reverse order of removal, note the following:

Secure all hose connections with hose clamps appropriate for the model. Refer to the electronic parts catalog ETKA.

- Connect the fuel hoses to the fuel lines and to the auxiliary fuel pump as marked.

- Carefully install the fuel hoses into the mount.

- Bleed the fuel system.
