Vent Frame, Checking
• On the Audi A3 Cabrio, the ventilation openings - B - in the rear lid trim - A - must not be covered by any objects when the rear lid is closed.
• The following 3 illustrations show the layout and the version of the components of the extraction outlets on the Audi A3; the layout and the components on the Audi A3 Sportback and on the Audi A3 Cabrio have some slight differences (the function however is the same).
- Check ventilation channels to both ventilation frames - A - in luggage compartment (left and right) for throughput.
• Sealing lips - B - in ventilation frames - A - must move freely and close by themselves.
• Blocked channels to ventilation frames or jammed sealing lips may cause windows to fog up.
• In this illustration, ventilation frame - A - is depicted with rear bumper removed.
• For forced air extraction, one ventilation frame - A - each is installed on left and right.
• So that sealing lips - B - close correctly, ventilation frame - A - must be installed on proper side (smaller radius - C - at top).
• In order for the passenger compartment ventilation to function properly, the vent openings - A - and - B - in the luggage compartment trim on left and right must not be closed.
