Left Footwell Vent Temperature Sensor (G261)
Left Footwell Vent Temperature Sensor (G261)
• Left Footwell Vent Temperature Sensor is installed on vehicles with manually regulated A/C system only at beginning of production (discontinued as running change).
• Vehicles with manually regulated A/C system: measured value of this sensor is not evaluated by A/C Control Module (J301) , a malfunction at Left Footwell Vent Temperature Sensor (G261) is not detected (it is not required for the regulation).
Removing and Installing
- Remove driver side storage compartment.
- Remove left footwell vent - A - (driver side).
- Reach through opening between left side of A/C unit and central tube (instrument panel cross member) or support on left side of A/C unit and rotate sensor - B - into position in which connector - A - can be disconnected.
- Disconnect the connector - A - (for example, using needle-nose pliers)
- Turn sensor - B - 90° and pull it out of A/C unit.
- Check seal - C - for proper seating when installing.
• If sensor - B - cannot be rotated or sensor - B - is not accessible by reason of other components, remove instrument panel.
• This illustration depicts sensor - B - with instrument panel removed. With instrument panel installed, the sensor - B - is visible from underneath when the footwell vent is removed (part of sensor with temperature sensor is visible in air guide channel).
