Left Footwell Vent Temperature Sensor (G261)







Left Footwell Vent Temperature Sensor (G261)

Left Footwell Vent Temperature Sensor is installed on vehicles with manually regulated A/C system only at beginning of production (discontinued as running change).

Vehicles with manually regulated A/C system: measured value of this sensor is not evaluated by A/C Control Module (J301) , a malfunction at Left Footwell Vent Temperature Sensor (G261) is not detected (it is not required for the regulation).

Removing and Installing

- Remove driver side storage compartment.

- Remove left footwell vent - A - (driver side).






- Reach through opening between left side of A/C unit and central tube (instrument panel cross member) or support on left side of A/C unit and rotate sensor - B - into position in which connector - A - can be disconnected.

- Disconnect the connector - A - (for example, using needle-nose pliers)






- Turn sensor - B - 90° and pull it out of A/C unit.

- Check seal - C - for proper seating when installing.

If sensor - B - cannot be rotated or sensor - B - is not accessible by reason of other components, remove instrument panel.
