Engine Block Heater: Service and Repair

Engine Preheating Element

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Hose Clip Pliers (VAS 6362)

Removing

- Remove the noise insulation - 1 -.





- Drain coolant. Refer to => [ Cooling System, Draining and Filling ] Procedures.

- Loosen the hose clamp and remove the coolant hose from the connection - arrow A -.





- Disconnect the connector on the engine preheating element - arrow D -.

- Loosen the coolant hose clamp and remove the coolant hose from the connection - arrow E -.

- Open the clamp - arrow B - and remove the engine preheating element - arrow C - downward.

Installing

Installation is in reverse order of removal, note the following:

- Fill with coolant. Refer to => [ Cooling System, Draining and Filling ] Procedures.

- Install the noise insulation.
