1 Glove Compartment

• Without map compartment

• Removal and installation is the same for all versions

Removing

• Removal and installation is described for a glove compartment with CD changer.

• Identify connectors before disconnecting to prevent confusion or for better allocation.

- Switch off all electrical consumers.

- Remove ignition key.

- Remove right instrument panel cover - 4 -, refer to => [ Left and Right Instrument Panel Cover ] Left and Right Instrument Panel Cover.

- Open glove compartment cover.

- Remove the CD changer - 9 - .

- Remove the bolt - 5 -.

- Remove bolts - 6 - (quantity: 3) from below in area of glove compartment front edge.

- Support glove compartment.

- Remove bolts - 7 - (quantity: 2) from rear edge of glove compartment.

- Disconnect glove compartment input wire/wiring harness connection - 2 -.

- Remove glove compartment.

- Remove glove compartment wiring harness if necessary.

- Glove compartment cover brake, removing and installing, refer to => [ Glove Compartment Cover Brake ] Glove Compartment Cover Brake.

Installation

Installation is reverse of removal, but note the following:

- Make sure the connectors engage completely (audibly).

- Secure glove compartment wiring harness in clips designed for this, refer to => [ Glove Compartment Wiring Harness Routing and Securing ] Glove Compartment Wiring Harness Routing and Securing.

- Note tightening sequence when tightening bolts.

3 Instrument Panel

4 Right Instrument Panel Cover

5 Bolt

3.5 Nm

• Tightening sequence => [ Glove Compartment, Installing ]

6 Bolt

3.5 Nm

• Quantity: 3

• Tightening sequence => [ Glove Compartment, Installing ]

7 Bolt

3.5 Nm

• Quantity: 2

• Tightening sequence => [ Glove Compartment, Installing ]

8 Bolt

3.5 Nm

• only for right-hand drive vehicles

9 CD Changer (R41)

- Tighten bolts in sequence - 1 through 6 - as shown in illustration.
