All Wheel Drive (AWD)







Subframe, Lower Transverse Link, Upper Transverse Link, Tie Rod and Level Control System Overview






1 - Eccentric Bolt

Perform a vehicle alignment after loosening. Refer to => [ Wheel Alignment ] Wheel Alignment.

Do not turn more than 90° right or left (that is smallest to largest possible adjustment).

2 - Nut

95 Nm

Self-locking

Always replace if removed.

Always tighten threaded connections in curb weight position. Refer to => [ Rear Suspension, Lifting to Curb Weight Position ] Rear Suspension, Lifting to Curb Weight Position.

3 - Eccentric Washer

Inner bore with tab.

4 - Eccentric Bolt

Perform a vehicle alignment after loosening. Refer to => [ Wheel Alignment ] Wheel Alignment.

Do not turn more than 90° right or left (that is smallest to largest possible adjustment).

5 - Nut

95 Nm

Self-locking

Always replace if removed.

Always tighten threaded connections in curb weight position. Refer to => [ Rear Suspension, Lifting to Curb Weight Position ] Rear Suspension, Lifting to Curb Weight Position.

Adjust torque wrench VAG 1332 to 80 Nm when tightening nut.

This torque specification applies only with insert tool T10179.

6 - Eccentric Washer

Inner bore with tab.

7 - Subframe

Different versions: Aluminum and steel.

Only steel subframes are available as a replacement part. Allocation, refer to the Electronic Parts Catalog (ETKA). A new brake line must also be installed when replacing an aluminum subframe. Allocation, refer to the Electronic Parts Catalog (ETKA).

8 - Bolt

90 Nm + 90° turn

Always replace if removed.

9 - Lower Transverse Link

Removing and installing, refer to => [ Lower Transverse Link ] Lower Transverse Link.

10 - Nut

90 Nm + 90° turn

Self-locking

Always replace if removed.

Always tighten threaded connections in curb weight position. Refer to => [ Rear Suspension, Lifting to Curb Weight Position ] Rear Suspension, Lifting to Curb Weight Position.

11 - Bolt

Always replace if removed.

12 - Threaded Rivet

M6

13 - Expanding Rivet

14 - Stone Protection Plate

15 - Bolt

8 Nm

16 - Bolt

5 Nm

Installed on vehicles with electronic damping (Audi magnetic ride).

Installed on vehicles with headlamp range control; quantity: 3.

17 - Bolt

5 Nm

18 - Left Rear Level Control System Sensor (G76) , Right Rear Level Control System Sensor (G77)

Removing and installing, refer to => [ Level Control System Sensor ] Level Control System Sensor.

The sensor lever must face toward the outside of the vehicle.

19 - Bolt

130 Nm + 90° turn

Always replace if removed.

Always tighten threaded connections in curb weight position. Refer to => [ Rear Suspension, Lifting to Curb Weight Position ] Rear Suspension, Lifting to Curb Weight Position.

20 - Washer

Installed on vehicles with an aluminum wheel bearing housing.

Serves as corrosion protection.

Always install.

21 - Upper Transverse Link

Removing and installing, refer to => [ Upper Transverse Link ] Upper Transverse Link.

22 - Nut

Always replace if removed.

23 - Washer

24 - Nut

Always replace if removed.

25 - Wheel Bearing Housing

Different versions: Aluminum and steel.

Allocation, refer to the Electronic Parts Catalog (ETKA).

Removing and installing, refer to => [ Wheel Bearing Housing ] Wheel Bearing Housing.

26 - Washer

Installed on vehicles with an aluminum wheel bearing housing.

Serves as corrosion protection.

Always install.

27 - Washer

28 - Bolt

130 Nm + 90° turn

Always replace if removed.

Always tighten threaded connections in curb weight position. Refer to => [ Rear Suspension, Lifting to Curb Weight Position ] Rear Suspension, Lifting to Curb Weight Position.

29 - Tie Rod

Closed in direction of travel.

30 - Nut

90 Nm + 90° turn

Always replace if removed.

Always tighten threaded connections in curb weight position. Refer to => [ Rear Suspension, Lifting to Curb Weight Position ] Rear Suspension, Lifting to Curb Weight Position.

31 - Bolt

Always replace if removed.

32 - Nut

50 Nm + 180° turn

Always replace if removed.

33 - Crossmember

Omitted with the steel subframe.

Allocation, refer to the Electronic Parts Catalog (ETKA).

34 - Bolt

Always replace if removed.
