Left Flange Shaft Seal

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Thrust Piece (3305)

Procedure

• Shaft seal can be replaced with transmission installed.

• General repair instructions, refer to => [ Repair Information ] 02EA (S-Tronic) Transmission.

• Observe cleanliness rules when working on transmissions, refer to => [ Clean Working Conditions ] 02EA (S-Tronic) Transmission.

- Remove the left flange shaft. Refer to => [ Left Flange Shaft ] Left Flange Shaft.

- Pry out shaft seal with assembly lever.

- Lightly coat the outer circumference of the new shaft seal with oil.

- Fill the space between the sealing- and dust lip - arrow - half way with sealing grease; sealing grease, refer to the Electronic Parts Catalog (ETKA).






- Drive in shaft seal as far as stop using (3305) , do not cant while doing this.






- Install the left flange shaft. Refer to => [ Left Flange Shaft ] Left Flange Shaft.

- Transmission fluid level, checking and filling. Refer to => [ Transmission Fluid, Checking and Filling ] Transmission Fluid, Checking and Filling.
