Transmission Oil Cooler






Transmission Oil Cooler

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Hose Clamps Up to 25 mm Dia. (3094)

Engine Bung Set (VAS 6122)

Removing

Risk of burning due to hot steam and hot coolant.

When the engine is warm, the cooling system is under pressure.

Reduce pressure by covering coolant expansion tank cap with cloths and carefully opening.

- Open coolant expansion tank cap.

- Remove the air filter housing.

- Mark the coolant hoses to the transmission fluid cooler to prevent them from being switched when installing.






- Clamp off coolant hoses on transmission oil cooler with (3094) and remove from cooler - A -.

- Seal any open lines and connections with a clean plug from the (VAS 6122).

- Remove bolts - A -.






- Remove transmission oil cooler - B - with both O-rings - C - from transmission.

Coolant must not drip into transmission!

Installing

Install in reverse order, paying attention to the following:

Tightening specification, refer to => [ Transmission Fluid Cooler and Filter Overview ] Transmission Fluid Cooler and Filter Overview.

Replace transmission oil cooler bolts.

Replace O-rings.

- Install the air filter housing.

- Transmission fluid level, checking and filling, refer to => [ Transmission Fluid, Checking and Filling ] Transmission Fluid, Checking and Filling.

- Check status of coolant.
