Starter

Observe notes on contact corrosion. Refer to => [ Contact Corrosion ] Contact Corrosion.

Removing






- With ignition switched off, disconnect battery Ground (ND) wire. Refer to => [ Battery, Disconnecting and Connecting ] Battery, Disconnecting and Connecting.

- Remove the air filter housing.

- Disconnect the electrical connector - 2 - by sliding the retainer back and pressing the release down.

- Fold back the boot - 1 - and disconnect the B+ wire - 3 - from the solenoid switch.

- Remove the front noise insulation - 1 -.






- Remove the nuts - 2 - and remove the wiring harness bracket - 1 -.






- Remove the screws on the starter - arrows -.






- Remove the starter - 1 - downward.

Installing

• Tightening specifications. Refer to => [ Starter Overview ] Service and Repair.

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

- Install the air filter housing.

- Connect battery. Refer to=> [ Connecting ] Battery, Disconnecting and Connecting.
