Electrical and Electronic Components and Component Locations
Data Link Connector (DLC)
• Location: The Data Link Connector (DLC), for example, for the Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System (VAS 5051B) is located in the driver's side footwell.
• Before performing repairs on the transmission, the cause of the malfunction must be determined as accurately as possible in the operating modes "Guided Fault Finding", "Vehicle On-Board Diagnosis" and "Test Instruments" .
Direct Shift Gearbox (DSG) Mechatronic (J743), valves, sensor and transmission input RPM sensor
• Location: Direct Shift Gearbox (DSG) Mechatronic (J743) is bolted on to transmission housing on the bottom and covered by transmission oil pan.
• The mechatronic unit incorporates the hydraulic control, the Transmission Control Module (TCM), the Multi-Function Transmission Range (TR) Switch and the sensors and actuators as a complete synchronized unit.
• All components mentioned are tested by On Board Diagnostics (OBD).
