Rear Final Drive

Axle Oil Level, Checking

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Oil Collecting and Extracting Device (V.A.G 1782)

• Observe general repair notes, refer to => [ Repair Information ] Procedures.

• The vehicle must be perfectly horizontal when checking the fluid level.

Procedure

- Set the (V.A.G 1782) underneath the rear final drive.

- Remove the transmission fluid filler plug - arrow - by using a hex socket wrench.






• The fluid level is correct when the rear final drive is filled up the lower edge of the fluid fill hole.

- If necessary, top off the gear oil; specification, refer to the Parts Catalog.

- Install the bolt - arrow - along with a new seal.
