Bonded Rubber Bushing in Transmission Support

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Thrust Plate (VW 402)

Thrust Disc (VW 412)

Arbor 50 mm Dia. (VW 432)

Base Block (VW 441)

Tube (3296)

Assembly Tool (T10214)

- Remove the transmission support, refer to => [ Transmission Support and Bracket ] Transmission Support and Bracket.

- Press out the bonded rubber mount.






- Bolt the new bonded rubber bushing to the thrust piece (T10214/3).






- Press the new bonded rubber bushing - A - and the thrust piece (T10214/3) in the guide sleeve (T10214/2) until the thrust piece (T10214/3) is flush with the guide sleeve (T10214/2).

- Next, use the (T10214) to align the new bonded rubber bushing to the transmission support.






- Do this by aligning the bolts - A - or the notch - arrow - on the thrust piece (T10214/3) along the center line with the holes in the transmission support.

The spacing must be even "x".

- Next, press the bonded rubber bushing onto the transmission support until the guide sleeve (T10214/2) can be turned by hand - arrows -.






Press the bonded rubber bushing just enough so that it is no higher than the (3296) , or, if necessary, use the (VW 441) to keep pressing it all the way to the stop.

- Install the transmission support. Refer to => [ Transmission Support and Bracket ] Transmission Support and Bracket.
