Pressure Reservoir
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
• Torque wrench (V.A.G 1331)
• Torque wrench (V.A.G 1783)
• Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System (VAS 5051 B)
• Standard socket open end 12 mm
Remove Front Pressure Reservoir at Underbody
- Place vehicle on hoist. Refer to => [ Positioning Vehicle on Hoist and Wheels ] Positioning Vehicle on Hoist and Wheels.
- Perform pressure reservoir system vent using (VAS 5051 B). Refer to => [ System, Venting or Filling ] System, Venting or Filling.
- Remove left underbody trim.
- Slowly loosen air line - 1 - on pressure reservoir - 2 - and allow air pressure to come down. When air pressure has escaped, remove air line - 1 -.
- Remove bolt - 3 - and guide out pressure reservoir - 2 - and remove.
Pressure Reservoir in Luggage Compartment, Removing
- Place vehicle on hoist. Refer to => [ Positioning Vehicle on Hoist and Wheels ] Positioning Vehicle on Hoist and Wheels.
- Perform pressure reservoir system vent using (VAS 5051B). Refer to => [ System, Venting or Filling ] System, Venting or Filling.
- Remove the luggage compartment floor covering and the compressor on the left side.
- Slowly loosen air line - 1 - on pressure reservoir - 2 - and allow air pressure to come down. When air pressure has escaped, remove air line - 1 -.
- Remove screws - 3 - and pressure reservoir - 2 -.
Front Pressure Reservoir, Installing on Underbody
Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal. Observe the following when doing so:
Tightening specifications, refer to => [ Air Supply Unit and Solenoid Valve Block Assembly Overview ] .
- Place vehicle on wheels. Refer to => [ Positioning Vehicle on Hoist and Wheels ] Positioning Vehicle on Hoist and Wheels.
