Affected Vehicles

Condition
Customer indicates the clock in the vehicle is too fast or too slow.

Technical Background

Time deviations of approximately 1 second per day (half a minute per month) are permitted. In some cases the deviation may be greater.

Production Solution

Optimized software 214 in J285 with improved clock accuracy planned for model year 2012.

Service

1. If the time deviation exceeds 1 second per day, perform the SVM update to J285.

SVM Update Instructions

1. Follow all instructions in the attached TSB 2011732 00 Software Version Management (SVM), operating instructions.

2. Update the instrument cluster (J285) using the SVM action code 17A005.

Note:
On some vehicles after the software update, DTC 12814 (Instrument Cluster Control Module No Communication - Sporadic) may appear in the 02 module. This code cannot be cleared using GFF and must be cleared using Vehicle Self Diagnosis. Clear the DTC before releasing the vehicle back to the customer.
