Rear Subframe: Service and Repair






Subframe, Securing

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Torque wrench (V.A.G 1331)

Torque wrench (V.A.G 1332)

Scissor lift table (VAS 6131)

Locating pins (T10300)

Basic Set (VAS 6131/13)

Certain steps require removal of subframe or entire rear axle. For installation, the original position of the subframe can be retained by using (T10300). Always install locating pins just prior to lowering subframe or complete rear axle. A road test must be performed after completing repairs. If steering wheel is crooked, vehicle must be aligned. Refer to => [ Wheel Alignment ] Wheel Alignment.

- Remove bolts - arrows -.






- Install (T10300) in threads by hand as far as - A - marking.






- Tighten the locating pins to 30 Nm while counterholding the sleeve at the flat areas using an open-end wrench to prevent it from turning.

Position of subframe is now secured.

- Place (VAS 6131) with (VAS 6131/13) under subframe.

Removal of (T10300) is performed in the reverse order of installation.
