Affected Vehicle

Condition

A hesitation or disruption in sound is heard when playing a CD which contains one long continuous track.

Technical Background

CDs that contain one long continuous track, have no breaks between tracks, but can still show individual titles and length in the MMI; the CD changer will cut out the sound for half a second when changing from one track to the next. This is normal for vehicles with an Alpine CD changer installed.

Tip: The Alpine CD changer has a SW part number of 4F0 035 110 A. Please use the VAS Tester to confirm the CD changer SW part number.

Production Solution

Not applicable.

Service

A replacement of the CD changer will not fix the behavior. This is considered normal and any replacements will be rejected under warranty.

Warranty

This TSB is informational only and not applicable to any Audi warranty.
