Heated Oxygen Sensor (G39) and Oxygen Sensor Heater (Z19)

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Ring Spanner 7-Piece Set (3337)

Removing

- Disconnect the connector - 3 - from the Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) (G39) and the Oxygen Sensor (O2S) heater (Z19).






- Remove the HO2S - 2 - using the (3337).






Installing

Note the following when installing:

• New oxygen sensors are coated with assembly paste; the paste must not get into slots of the oxygen sensor body.

• For a used oxygen sensor, only coat threads with hot bolt paste. This paste must not come into contact with oxygen sensor slots. Hot bolt paste, refer to the Electronic Parts Catalog (ETKA)

• Electrical wire of the oxygen sensor must always be secured in the same position when installing so that contact with the exhaust pipe is avoided.
