0B5A (S-Tronic) Transmission

Electrical and Electronic Components and Component Locations

Data Link Connector (DLC)

Location: The Data Link Connector (DLC), for example, for the Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System (VAS 5051B) is located in the driver's side footwell.

Before performing repairs on the transmission, the cause of the malfunction must be determined as accurately as possible in the operating modes "Guided Fault Finding", "Vehicle On-Board Diagnosis" and "Test Instruments" .

Direct Shift Gearbox (DSG) Mechatronic (J743), valves, sensor and transmission input RPM sensor

Location: Direct Shift Gearbox (DSG) Mechatronic (J743) is bolted on to transmission housing on the bottom and covered by transmission oil pan.

The mechatronic unit incorporates the hydraulic control, the Transmission Control Module (TCM), the Multi-Function Transmission Range (TR) Switch and the sensors and actuators as a complete synchronized unit.

All components mentioned are tested by On Board Diagnostics (OBD).

Refer to => [ DSG Mechatronic ] .

12. Transmission Control Module (TCM)

Transmission Range (TR) Display (Y6)

Location: The Transmission Range Display (Y6) is integrated in the instrument cluster.

The instrument cluster must be replaced if the transmission range display is faulty.

Selector Lever Sensor System Control Module (J587)

Location: The Selector Lever Sensor System Control Module (J587) - 2 - is clipped to the selector mechanism function unit - arrows -.

Disregard the - A arrow -.

Refer to => [ Selector Lever Sensor System Control Module ].

Shift Lock Solenoid (N110)

Location: Shift Lock Solenoid (N110) - 1 - is clipped onto shift mechanism.

Refer to => [ Shift Lock Solenoid ].

Transmission Park Selector Switch (F305)

Location: The Transmission Park Selector Switch (F305) consisting of two reed contacts - 1 - and - 2 - is installed on the circuit board - B - on the Shift Lock Solenoid (N110) - A -.

The Transmission Park Selector Switch (F305) can only be replaced together with the Shift Lock Solenoid (N110).

Refer to => [ Shift Lock Solenoid ].

Kick Down Switch (F8)

A specific value from the Throttle Position (TP) Sensor (G79) and the Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor 2 (G185) are stored in the engine control module.

Location: The accelerator pedal position sensors are integrated inside the accelerator pedal module - arrow -.

If the accelerator pedal sensor is faulty, then replace the accelerator pedal module.

Selector Lever Transmission Range (TR) Position Display (Y26)

Location: Selector Lever Transmission Range (TR) Position Display (Y26) - 1 - is clipped into center console.

Refer to => [ Selector Lever Transmission Range Position Display ].
