Lighting - Malfunction Message in Instrument Display

Affected Vehicles
94 Vehicle lights malfunction message in instrument cluster display
Condition
- Light bulb symbol and message Vehicle lights: malfunction is seen in the instrument cluster driver information display.
- DTC 03280 (Light switch position implausible signal) is stored in the electronic central electronics control unit (address word 09).
- Exterior lights are functioning properly.
Technical Background
Figure 1:
If the headlight switch is moved to an intermediate position, the warning light and the message appear after about 10 seconds.
The message is turned off after about 5 seconds. The light bulb symbol is turned off only after the headlight switch is turned to a defined position, and the status of DTC 03280 is changed to sporadic.
After 40 driving cycles without an implausible signal detected, the DTC is deleted.

Not applicable.

Check whether the above situation applies and explain the background to the customer.
Replacing parts does not change the behavior.
