Affected Vehicles

Condition

^ Convertible top is inoperative.

^ One or both of the following DTCs will be stored in 26 - Convertible top operation:

^ DTC B11A201 (Hydraulic pump relay - Electrical malfunction)
^ DTC B11A301 (Hydraulic pump relay 2 - Electrical malfunction)

^ One or both of the following DTCs may be stored in 26 - Convertible top operation:

^ DTC B119E01 (Voltage supply 1 for switches/sensors - Electrical malfunction)
^ DTC B119F01 (Voltage supply 2 for switches/sensors - Electrical malfunction)

Technical Background

A current spike from the Convertible Top Compartment Cover Locking Motor (V222) damages the electronics in the Convertible Top Control Module (J256).

Improved Convertible Top Compartment Cover Locking Motor (V222).

Service

If DTC B119E01 and/or DTC B119F01 is stored

With the key in the on position, listen for running of the hydraulic pump.

^ If the hydraulic pump is running, replace the Convertible Top Control Module (J256) and the Convertible Top Compartment Cover Locking Motor (V222). Only improved components are available.

Tip: It is not necessary to replace the hydraulic pump.

^ If the hydraulic pump is not running, replace only the Convertible Top Compartment Cover Locking Motor (V222).

If neither DTC B119E01 nor DTC B119F01 is stored

Replace only the Convertible Top Compartment Cover Locking Motor (V222).
