• Puller (T10055)
• Press Tool for Shaft Seal (T10180)
• Sleeve for Shaft Seal (T10186)
• Sheet Metal Screw
Procedure
- Remove the transfer case.
- To remove the seal, install a sheet metal screw - arrow - of approximately 4 mm diameter into the shaft seal.
• Install the sheet metal screw in so that it jams between the seal and metal ring.
• Be careful not to install the screw too deep otherwise the bearing underneath will get damaged.
- Remove the seal using the (T10055).
- The new shaft seal must be lubricated with Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF), especially at sealing lips.
- First, position the (T10186) onto the input shaft so that seal is not damaged when installed.
- Then, drive in the new seal until seated using (T10180). Do not tilt the seal when doing so.
- Install the transfer case.
- Check the ATF fluid level. Refer to => [ ATF Level, Checking and Filling ] ATF Level, Checking and Filling.
