Affected Vehicles
Condition
^ The customer may report that the headlight range control warning light is sporadically illuminated in the driver information display.
^ The following entries are stored in the 55 - dynamic headlight range control module (J-431):
^ DTC 3797 (Power output module for left headlight J-667 no signal/communication)
^ DTC 3798 (Power output module for right headlight J-668 no signal/communication)
Technical Background
Communication between the dynamic headlight range control module and power output modules J-667 and J-668 is sporadically disrupted.
Production Solution
Revised software with dynamic headlight range control module 4L0 907 357 B.
Service
The software of 55 - dynamic headlight range control module J-431 must be updated via SVM.
1. Follow all instructions in the attached TSB 2011732 00 Software Version Management (SVM), operating instructions.
2. Update the dynamic headlight range control module using the SVM action code as listed in the table above if necessary.
