Stabilizer Bar, Cabriolet

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Torque wrench (V.A.G 1331)

Removing

- Remove the left rear wheel.

- Remove left wheel bearing housing.

• The following work steps are described for the left side of the vehicle. These work steps also apply simultaneously for right side of vehicle.

- Remove the nut - 1 - and pull coupling rod - 2 - out of stabilizer.






• Do not loosen bolt - arrow - on tie rod - 3 - on right side of vehicle.

- Remove bolts - arrows - for stabilizer clamp.






- Guide the stabilizer bar out of the subframe toward the left.

• Be careful not to damage the surface on the subframe and stabilizer bar when removing the stabilizer bar. Correct any possible paint damage.

Installing

Installation is the reverse of removal, with special attention to the following:

- Axle alignment is required, see Table. Refer to => [ An axle alignment is
necessary when: ] Wheel Alignment.

• When threading in stabilizer bar, ensure subframe surface is not damaged. Correct any possible paint damage.
