Control Module and Hydraulic Unit, Anti-Lock Brake/Electronic Stabilization Program ITT Mark 60 Overview
If the brake line connections are interchanged, the ESP system will malfunction.
- After fastening the brake lines to the ABS hydraulic unit, perform the output check diagnosis. vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system (VAS 5051 B) or (VAS 5052)
• By performing the output check diagnosis, it can be determined if the line connections were interchanged.
1 - Brake Line
• Hydraulic control unit to rear left brake caliper
2 - Bolt
• 4 Nm
3 - Brake Line
• Hydraulic control unit to rear right brake caliper
4 - Bolt
• 4 Nm
5 - ABS Hydraulic Unit (N55)
• Component location: In engine compartment, right
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Control Module and Hydraulic Unit, Mark 60, ] Control Module and Hydraulic Unit, Mark 60
• TFSI, removing and installing, refer to => [ ABS Control Module and ABS Hydraulic Unit ] ABS Control Module and ABS Hydraulic Unit
• 2.0L TDI removing and installing, refer to => [ ABS Control Module and ABS Hydraulic Unit ] ABS Control Module and ABS Hydraulic Unit
• Vehicles with a diesel particulate filter, removing and installing, refer to => [ ABS Control Module and ABS Hydraulic Unit with Diesel Particulate Filter ] ABS Control Module and ABS Hydraulic Unit With Diesel Particulate Filter
• On vehicles with OHBV (Optimized Hydraulic Brake Vacuum Booster), the control module must not be removed from the hydraulic unit and may only be replaced complete (control module with hydraulic assembly).

6 - Bracket
• The ESP control module and hydraulic unit must be removed first before removing the bracket.

• 8 Nm
8 - Rubber Buffer
9 - Bracket
10 - Bolt
• 20 Nm
11 - ABS Control Module (J104)
• Beginning with MY 09, the ESP Sensor Unit (G419) is inside the ABS control module.
• Beginning with MY 09, the ABS control module must be replaced if the sensor unit ESP sensor unit is faulty.
• Beginning with MY 09, the ABS control module must be calibrated if it was replaced.
• Beginning with MY 09, the steering angle and the braking pressure are stored in the ABS control module and must be calibrated.
• Component location: In engine compartment, right
• The control module is bolted to the hydraulic unit

On the Mark 60EC system
If the Mark 60EC ABS control module is being replaced, then it will be necessary to perform a basic setting to the intake and the separating valves. Refer to => [ Intake Valves and Separating Valves, Mark60EC, Basic Setting ] Programming and Relearning

• Master brake cylinder/primary piston circuit to hydraulic control unit
