Selector Lever Cable Overview
1 Selector Lever Cable
• Do not bend.
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Selector Lever Cable ] Selector Lever Cable.
• The selector lever cable must be replaced if the rubber grommet is damaged.
• The ball socket and ball head must be free of oil and grease.
• Make sure the rubber grommet for the selector lever cable is installed correctly inside the selector mechanism function unit lower section and it seals correctly.
• Adjusting, refer to => [ Selector Lever Cable, Adjusting ] Service and Repair.
2 Retainer Plate
• For the selector lever cable to the selector mechanism function unit.
3 Adjusting Bolt
• 13 Nm
• For adjusting the selector lever cable.
4 Pin
• The plastic retaining spring on the adjustment slide must lock the pin so that it cannot fall out.
5 Adjustment Slide
6 Selector Lever
• The ball socket and ball head must be free of oil and grease.
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Selector Lever ] Selector Lever
7 Cable Bracket
• For the selector lever cable.
8 Bolt
• M6 - 9 Nm
• M8 - 22 Nm
• For securing the cable bracket to the transmission.
• Size depends on the version.
9 Retainer Plate
• For the selector lever cable to the cable bracket.
10 Bolt
• M6 - 9 Nm
• M8 - 22 Nm
• For securing the cable bracket to the transmission.
• Size depends on the version.
Selector Lever Cable Heat Shield Bolt Tightening Specification
- Tighten the bolts - arrows - to 9 Nm.
• The heat shield for the 8-cylinder, 4.2L FSI engine is shown in the illustration.
