Fluid Filter - A/T: Service and Repair






Transmission Fluid Filter

Removing





- Remove the oil pan. Refer to => [ Oil Pan ] Oil Pan.

- Remove the bolts - arrows -.

- Remove the transmission fluid filter.

- Remove the filter seal - 1 - from the filter.





Installing

Tightening specification, refer to => [ Oil Pan, Filter and Mechatronic Unit Overview ] Oil Pan, Filter and Mechatronic Unit Overview.

Danger of causing damage to the seal.

First install the filter loosely. Then center it and press it into the Mechatronic unit.

- Lubricate a new seal - 1 - with Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF) and install it on the filter collar.

- Install the filter to the Mechatronic unit but do not push it in yet!

- Turn the bolts - A - 3 turns only into the Mechatronic unit.





- Turn the bolt - B - only half way (approximately 5 turns).

- Center the filter. It must slide into its seat.

- Press the filter - arrows - evenly on the corners all the way into the Mechatronic unit and hold it in this position.

- Tighten the bolts - A and B - all the way by hand.

- Install the oil pan. Refer to => [ Oil Pan ] Oil Pan.

- Fill the ATF and check the level. Refer to => [ ATF, Draining Or Filling after Repair ] ATF, Draining or Filling After Repair.
