Battery Cable: Service and Repair

Ground Cable with Battery Monitoring Control Module, from 05.2008

Removing





- Switch off ignition and remove ignition key.

- Remove screw - 2 - and pull floor vent - 1 - up.

- Release retaining clamps on back side of cover - 1 - in - direction of arrow A -.





- Then remove cover in - direction of arrow B - from driver's seat console.

- Pry covers - 1 - and - 3 - out of floor covering with Pry Lever (80 - 200).





- Remove both front screws - 4 - on driver's seat console and tip console - 2 - up.

- Remove cover - 2 - over battery by releasing retaining clamps - 1 - - arrow -.





- Loosen the nut several turns and remove the ground wire terminal clamp - 4 - from the battery terminal.





- Disconnect the electrical connector - 6 -.

- Remove the nut - 3 - and guide the ground cable - 2 - and grommet - 1 - out of the battery console.

- Remove the battery monitoring control module (J367) - item 5 -.

Installing





Install in reverse order of removal, observing the following:

- Disconnect the electrical connector - 2 - on the battery monitoring control module (J367) - item 1 -.

- To connect, connect the ground wire terminal clamp by hand to battery negative terminal "-" and tighten the nut - 3 -.

- Connect the electrical connector on the battery monitoring control module (J367).

- Install the bracket for the driver seat.
