Affected Vehicles
Condition
This Update has been proactively released to prevent the following condition from occurring in the vehicle:
^ Bulb out warning appearing in the DIS.
^ Main halogen bulb on one side fails.
This Update is in effect until removed.
Vehicle must meet all of the following criteria:
^ Procedure is valid only for vehicles that show the 94F4 code in the ElsaWeb Campaign/Action Information screen on the day of repair.
^ Vehicle must be within the New Vehicle Limited Warranty.
^ Procedure must be performed within the allotted time frame stated in this bulletin.
^ Procedure must be performed on applicable vehicles in dealer inventory prior to sale.
Technical Background
The service life of bulbs decreases with rising operating voltage.
Depending on the driving style (i.e. rapid acceleration) power surges can occur, which leads to increased lamp wear.
By reducing the permissible maximum voltage to 13.5 V in adaptation channel 19 of J519 the service life of the lamp can be increased.
Production Solution
Adaptation channel 19 in J519 changed to reduce permissible maximum voltage.
Service
1. Using GFF Function Selection, navigate to appropriate adaptation value:
^ Body (repair group 01; 27; 50- 97) >> Electrical Equipment >> 01 - On Board Diagnostic (OBD) capable Systems >> 09 - Vehicle Electrical System >> J519 - Vehicle Electrical System Control Module, functions >> J519 - Vehicle Elec. Sys. CM, Halogen Light adaptation
2. Change the value to 13.5V (Value 0).
3. Replace left and right Halogen bulb.

^ Properly destroy and dispose of removed parts in accordance with all state and local requirements, unless otherwise indicated and/or requested through SAGA.
^ If you have exhausted your allocated parts and you require additional parts for vehicles affected by this Update but have exceeded your Upper Order Limit, please submit your requests for additional parts via email. Be sure to include the affected VINs with your order. Prior to submitting your request, ensure that each vehicle has the 94F4 code open in ElsaWeb. Your order will be reviewed and processed accordingly.
