Harmonic Balancer - Crankshaft Pulley: Service and Repair

Vibration Damper with Ribbed Belt Pulley,

Removing

- On a vehicle with air suspension, activate vehicle lift mode.

- Remove the front noise insulation - 1 -.






- Counterhold the generator ribbed belt pulley nut with an open end wrench and loosen the bolts - 1 -.






- Remove ribbed belt. Refer to => [ Ribbed Belt ] Ribbed Belt.

- Remove the bolts and then remove the shim - 2 - and the vibration damper - 3 - together with the ribbed belt pulley.

Installing

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

• Tightening specifications, refer to => [ Ribbed Belt Drive Overview ] Ribbed Belt Drive Overview

• Replace the vibration damper bolts - 1 - and shim - 2 -.

• Counterhold the generator ribbed belt pulley nut with an open end wrench and with the ribbed belt mounted when tightening the vibration damper bolts.

- Install the ribbed belt. Refer to => [ Ribbed Belt ] Ribbed Belt.
