Selector Lever Cable, Bringing into Basic Setting

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Socket and key (T40031)

Procedure

Tightening specifications. Refer to => [ Selector Lever Cable and Locking Cable Assembly Overview ] Selector Lever Cable and Locking Cable Assembly Overview

- Remove cover for shift mechanism. Refer to => [ Selector Mechanism Cover ] Selector Mechanism Cover.

- Place selector lever in position "D".

Before performing basic setting, make sure that the clamping screw is tightened. It is accessible through the hole in shift mechanism in position " D" using socket and key (T40031).





- In this position, tighten clamping screw with the socket and key (T40031).

- Place selector lever in position "P".

- Remove the mounting bracket on the transmission - arrows -.





In the illustration the transmission support is removed.

Make sure selector lever is in position "P".

- Push selector shaft lever - 2 - on the transmission all the way back (in the illustration shown all the way to the right) until the parking lock engages.





When parking lock is engaged, it must not be possible to turn both front wheels in one direction at the same time.

- Make sure that selector lever cable - 1 - has been routed free of kinks and tension.

- Secure selector lever cable bracket - arrows -.





- Adjust selector lever cable. Refer to => [ Selector Lever Cable, Checking and Adjusting ] Selector Lever Cable, Checking and Adjusting.
