Left Flange Shaft

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Used Oil Collecting and Extracting Device (V.A.G 1782)

Removing

• Rules for cleanliness when working on transmission => [ Clean Working Conditions ].

• General repair notes => [ Repair Information ].

- Remove left drive axle. Axle Shaft Assembly

- Place old oil collecting and extracting device ( V.A.G 1782) beneath transmission.

- Remove bolt for left flange shaft, by installing two bolts into the flange and counter-holding the flange shaft with a pry bar.





- Remove flange shaft with spring, thrust washer and tapered ring.

Installing

Installation is in reverse order of removal. Pay attention to the following:

Torque specifications: => [ Seals and Flange Shafts ]

• Replace flange shaft countersunk screw.

- Press in flange shaft against the spring force and secure it with a new bolt.

- Install left drive axle. Axle Shaft Assembly

- Transmission fluid level, checking and filling => [ Transmission Fluid, Checking Level and Filling ].
